Exterior Weeping Tile
In the past weeping tile was either clay tiles or clay pipe that would channel water away from the bottom of your foundation. Today, weeping tile is actually a perforated plastic pipe that runs beside your foundations footings. It is covered with a minimum of 6” of clean 40mil gravel.
Weeping tile is designed to collect ground water that has seeped down your wall, or that may be rising up from below. This water is removed through the municipal storm sewer or pumped safely away from the home by a sump pump.
